See the World in Technicolor

Penelope, Alexis, and Myself are positioned on top of our school's sign. Penelope's bathing suit is a gorgeous hot pink, my straw hat is quite cute, and Alexis's tie-dye shirt is colorful. I wanted each of these items to be the attention grabbers of the picture so I used the Layer menu, new adjustment layer, hue/saturation.

Then you adjust saturation to negative 100.

I zoomed into Penelope and used the brush tool, with black as the top color and white as the bottom, and painted the bathing suit. Her suit turned its natural hot pink color, and when I accidentally painted her skin, I switched to white on top/black on bottom and painted on the skin, which turned it to gray scale again.

And the final result:

Do You Feel Like You're Being Watched?

I took this picture at Massanutten and I thought giants should be staring at the people through the window. So I found four pictures to go in the windows.

I selected all of the picture with the birds. And went to edit, copy.

Then went back to my main picture and used the polygon lasso tool, which is with the magnetic lasso tool, and framed a window.

Then I used edit, paste into selection. And the birds appeared in the window! Then I used the move tool to adjust them.

Then you repeat those steps starting with the polygon lasso tool in each window, with a different picture to achieve this look:

How to Walk On Sunshine

Find an image that you don't like the person standing next to you or you're jumping over a hurdle and you want it to look like you're jumping into air.

Then you use the clone tool, make sure its a good size, 70 or 100 pixels, then move the circle to a blank spot in the image that you want to replace your 'friend' or hurdle with. Press the Alt key when you find a clear spot. Then move your mouse over to your 'friend' or hurdle, click with the mouse.

Your 'friend' now has a spot covering them. Continue covering your 'friend' up with clicks and remember to sample different backgrounds by moving the circle to new blank areas and using the Alt key to get new backgrounds.

Can You Teach Me How to Do That?

My friend Carl can do the Matrix moves. She's not dancing the limbo, but she can slowly go down and back as well as back up again. Kelly on the other hand, isn't that flexible and I want her to have the moves so I magnetic lassoed Kelly’s head and then copied it as a layer. Then I dragged and dropped Kelly’s head into Carl’s body picture. I adjusted the sized and rotation using 50% opacity. Next I used erase tool at varying opacities to get rid of Kelly’s excess hair. Finally I used brush tool to match Caryle’s and Kelly's skin and hair tones.

Are You 21? How to Make Photo Indentification

First of all, someone got this idea in their head to make a fake id; I'm guessing that was back in the '70s. One of my friends did not have a driver's license and was going to a government military base for a culinary field trip. I borrowed the staff badge from RCHS and proceeded to make a copy of it. First I measured the badge and got a new blank on Photoshop the same size as the badge. Then I used the marquee tool to select an area large enough for the yellow background, and used the bucket paint tool to fill in the border navy. With that done, I took the Panther logo from our school and copied and pasted it onto the background as a separate layer. Zooming in and using the erase tool, I got the panther clear of any excess white background. I then carefully adjusted its size with the move tool. After the Panther was in place, I used the Arial typing tool to select a font and navy color similar to the staff badge, and filled in the year, student, DOB, etc. Then I flipped the typing tool to vertical and put RCHS by the panther head. After the text was completed. I copied and pasted a new layer with my friend's mugshot onto the badge. I used the move tool to adjust the size and placement. Viola! A RCHS staff badge.
